綢繆（上宙留反毛詩傳云綢繆猶纏綿也說文從糸周聲下美憂反說文云繆枲之十潔也從糸翏力救反潔音結）。

綢繆 (The first character has the fanqie phonetic spelling 宙 [zhòu] + 留 [liú], [chóu]. The Mao Commentary to the Shijing says: "'Chóumiù' is like intertwined and bound tightly." The Shuowen says: "It takes 糸 [silk] as its radical and 周 as its phonetic component." The second character has the fanqie phonetic spelling 美 [měi] + 憂 [yōu], [miù]. The Shuowen says: "'Miù' means the ten bindings of hemp. It takes 糸 [silk] as its radical and 翏 as its phonetic component." The phonetic reading of 翏 is 力 [lì] + 救 [jiù], [liù]; the phonetic reading of 潔 is 結 [jié]).
