帷扆（上葦悲反鄭注周禮云在傍曰帷廣雅帷帳也說文從巾隹聲下衣豈反郭注爾雅云窗東西曰扆說文從戶衣聲者也）。

帷扆 [curtains and screens]: The first character is read with the fanqie wei + bei (wéi). Zheng [Xuan]'s commentary on the Zhouli says: 'What is hung at the sides is called a wéi.' The Guangya says: 'Wéi means curtains.' The Shuowen jiezi says it is composed of the [semantic] radical 'cloth' (巾) and the sound zhuī (隹). The second character is read with the fanqie yi + qi (yǐ). Guo [Pu]'s commentary on the Erya says: 'The space between the window and the door is called an yǐ.' The Shuowen jiezi says it is composed of the [semantic] radical 'door' (戶) and the sound yī (衣).
