蹏筌（上第泥反正體字也王弼云蹏音所以在兔得兔而忘蹏顧野王云所以取兔具也說文從足虒聲下七緣反莊子云筌所以在魚得魚而忘筌顧野王云捕魚笥也文字典說從竹全聲虒音同上集本作蹄字行之久也）。

Hare-traps and fish-baskets (蹏: fanqie 第泥 [tí], the orthodox form. Wang Bi says: "The snare is that by which one captures hares; once the hare is obtained, one forgets the snare." Gu Yewang says: "An implement for catching hares." The Shuowen jiezi states: "Composed of 足 ('foot') with 虒 phonetic." The lower graph is pronounced in the fanqie 七緣 [quán]. Zhuangzi says: "The basket is that by which one catches fish; once the fish is obtained, one forgets the basket." Gu Yewang says: "A bamboo hamper for catching fish." The Wenzi dianshuo states: "Composed of 竹 ('bamboo') with 全 phonetic." 虒 has the same pronunciation as above. Collected editions write 蹄, which has long been in general use).
