騁功: The first character has the fanqie phonetic notation chi (勅) + ling (領). The Mao Commentary to the Shijing states: '騁 means to execute or display.' Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan states: 'It means to gallop.' The Shuowen jiezi states: 'Analyzed as following the semantic component "horse" (馬) and the phonetic component 𦥚; 𦥚 has the fanqie phonetic notation pi (匹) + ying (盈).'
