Hoarding and gathering (貯聚: [the first character] has the fanqie zh- + [l]ü [=zhù]; Du's commentary to the Zuo zhuan says: 'Zhù (貯) means old [stores]; to store and hoard them'; the Shuowen says: 'To lay up'; it is formed with 'cowrie' [貝] and ning [宁] as phonetic. The second character has the fanqie c- + [y]u [=jù]; He's commentary to the Gongyang zhuan says: 'Jù (聚) means to amass'; Jia's commentary to the Guoyu says: 'To gather'; the Shuowen says: 'To assemble'; it is formed with yín [乑] and qǔ [取] as phonetic; yín [乑] is pronounced yín [吟] and is formed of three people).
