熸燼 (the upper character has the fanqie 接鹽. Du's commentary on the Zuo zhuan says: 'Between Wu and Chu, the extinguishing of fire is called 熸.' The lower character has the fanqie 似進. Zheng's commentary on the Mao Shijing says: 'What remains of fire is called 𱫮.' Du's commentary on the Zuo zhuan says: 'It refers to wood remaining from fire.' The Shuowen says both are formed from [the semantic component] 火 (fire), with 朁 and 聿 as their respective phonetic components. The sūtra manuscript writes it with 韱 as 𤒯, which is incorrect. Writing it with 盡 as 燼 is a popular character form).
