株杌 [Stumps and snags] (The upper character is fanqie 駐 + 廚 [zhū]. The Kaosheng says: 'The remaining stump of a felled tree.' The Hanshi waizhuan says: 'A sharp stump behind, a deep pit in front,' which is this. The lower character is fanqie 吾 + 骨 [wù]. The Kaosheng says: '杌 denotes short, protruding wood.' The Shuowen jiezi says: '株 means the root of a tree; it has the radical 木 and the phonetic 朱.' 杌 has the radical 木 and the phonetic 兀).
