Parasol (傘葢) (the first character is *mi-lan* fan; a vulgar character; the standard form takes the silk radical as 繖; the second character is pronounced *gai*; it is the orthodox form; it takes the grass radical and *he* (盇); *he* is pronounced *he*; Shuowen jiezi says that the character 盇 takes the big radical and the blood radical; the sūtra text writes 盖, taking the sheep radical and blood, which is an erroneous clerical script; it is the past and present cursive character).
