Lightning flash [掣電] (fanqie: 充世 [chè]; 掣電 refers to the dazzling flare of the yin and yang clashing. The Shiming says: "電 means 𱥃 [lightning flash]; it means it is seen for an instant and instantly vanishes." The Shizhou ji says: "The two eyes of a fierce beast are like the brilliance of 䃱磹 [lightning]. Now in Wu, lightning is called 䃱磹, pronounced with the fanqie 息念 [xiàn] and 大念 [dàn].
