蔗芋 (The first character is 之 [zhī] + 夜 [yè] fanqie. Kaosheng: The name of a sweet plant. Bencao says: Sugarcane is sweet in taste, beneficial to the large intestine, quenches thirst, removes dysphoria and heat, and relieves alcohol toxicity. The second character is 于 [yú] + 句 [jù] fanqie. Bencao: Taro is pungent in taste, also named 'earth lingzhi'; it should not be eaten in large quantities, as it stirs up old cold diseases. Shuowen jiezi: Taro has large leaves, solid roots, and is edible. Both characters are derived from 草, with 庶 and 亐 as phonetics).
