Aniruddha (阿泥律陀: formerly translated as Aniruddha [阿那律], or called Anuruddha [阿㝹樓馱], and also called Aniruddha [阿泥盧豆]; all refer to the same person. Here it is translated as "Never-Destitute" [無滅] or "As-One-Wishes" [如意]. Long ago, he offered a single meal to a pratyekabuddha, and for eighty aeons he went back and forth between the human and heavenly realms enjoying bliss, which even down to the present has never ceased; hence he is called "Never-Destitute". Moreover, whatever he sought came about as he wished, so he is also called "As-One-Wishes". He was the son of King Amṛtodana and a paternal cousin of the Buddha).
