談謔（上蹈南反顧野王云談言論也說文從言炎聲下香虐反爾雅曰謔浪笑敖戲謔也說文亦云戲也從言虐形聲也）。

談謔 [conversing and jesting] (The upper character is pronounced with the fanqie 蹈南 [tán]. Gu Yewang says: “談 means discourse and discussion.” The Shuowen jiezi says: “Formed from 言 [speech] with 炎 as the phonetic element.” The lower character is pronounced with the fanqie 香虐 [xuè]. The Erya says: “To jest, tease, laugh, and frolic is playful teasing.” The Shuowen jiezi also says: “To play; a phono-semantic character formed from 言 [speech] and 虐”).
