贍部洲（上時染反梵語也此大地總名古經或名琰浮或名閻浮提皆訛轉耳立世阿毘曇論云此洲北泥民陀羅河南岸正當洲之中心有贍部樹下水底南岸下有贍部黃金古名閻浮檀金是也樹因金而立名洲因樹而得號故名贍部洲也）。

贍部洲 [Jambudvīpa] (The upper character is pronounced with the fanqie 時染 [shàn]. Sanskrit; this is the general name for this continent. In ancient sūtras it was also named 琰浮 [Yanfu] or 閻浮提 [Jambudvīpa], which are both corrupt transliterations. The Lokasthiti-abhidharma-śāstra states: “To the north of this continent, on the southern bank of the Nimindhara River, right in the center of the continent, stands a Jambu tree. At the bottom of the water beneath the southern bank lies Jambu gold, which anciently was called Jambūnada gold. The tree is named after the gold, and the continent is designated after the tree; thus it is named Jambudvīpa”).
