掐珠 (Pinching beads: the upper character has the fanqie 苦洽; the Qieyun says to pinch an object with nails; the Shuowen says it is an associative compound formed from hand 手 with nails 爪 over a mortar 臼. The lower character is pronounced 朱, which refers to counting beads [a rosary]).
