噫夫（上於其反切韻憶也考聲云恨聲也鄭注禮記云噫不寤之聲也下房無反考聲云語端之詞禮記曰夫為人子者又曰夫三年之喪又曰夫不舍晝夜皆語端也）。

Alas! (噫夫: for the upper, yú + qí [yī]; the Qieyun says, "To recall." The Kaosheng says, "The sound of resentment." Zheng's commentary on the Liji says, "噫 is an exclamation of failure to understand." For the lower, fáng + wú [fú]; the Kaosheng says, "An initial particle of speech." The Liji says, "夫 (now), as for those who are sons...", and also says, "夫, the three years' mourning...", and also says, "夫, it does not cease day or night..."; all are initial particles).
