滌垢（上徒歷反切韻淨也玉篇除也考聲云洗滌也說文從水條聲也下古厚反韻英云塵也考聲染污也說文垢圿也從土后聲圿音姧八反）。

To cleanse defilements (digou 滌垢: the first character has the fanqie [reading] tu + li [di]. The Qieyun says: "To purify." The Yupian says: "To remove." The Kaosheng says: "To wash clean." The Shuowen [jiezi] says it takes 'water' [as semantic component] and tiao as phonetic. The second character has the fanqie [reading] gu + hou [gou]. The Yunying says: "Dust." The Kaosheng says: "Defiled." The Shuowen [jiezi] says: "垢 means dirt (jia)." It takes 'earth' [as semantic component] and hou as phonetic. 圿 is pronounced jian + ba [fan] [jia]).
