上鐫（下子泉反切韻鑽也斲也說文破木也又曰琢金石也從金雋聲雋音徂兗反從隹臥弓有作隽非本字）。

Engraving on top (上鐫: the second [character] is *juan*, fanqie 子泉. The Qieyun says: 'To drill; to chop.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'To cleave wood.' It also says: 'To carve metal and stone.' Derived from the metal radical 金 with 雋 as phonetic. 雋 is fanqie 徂兗; it is derived from 隹 with a lying 弓; some write it as 隽, which is not the standard character).
