固悋（上古誤反切韻堅也又牢也說文蔽也郭注爾雅云掔然牢固之意也掔音慳下良刃反字書鄙財物也或作恡亦通上固經文作頋謂廻視也非本字也）。

Stubborn and stingy (固悋: the first [character] is *gu*, fanqie 古誤. The Qieyun says: 'Firm; also, solid.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Obstructed.' Guo's commentary to the Erya says: '掔然 means the sense of being firmly solid'; 掔 is pronounced *qian*. The second [character] is *lin*, fanqie 良刃. Character dictionaries say: 'Miserly with wealth and material goods'; also written as 恡, which is also acceptable. In the sūtra text the first character 固 is written as 頋, which means to look back, and is not the standard character).
