哽噎（上古杏反下烏結反氣塞也玉篇云如骨在喉也律文作咽音烏見反又音烟非哽噎義也）。

哽噎 (The upper character is 古 + 杏 with fanqie. The lower character is 烏 + 結 with fanqie. It means obstructed breathing. The Yupian says: 'As if a bone were in the throat.' The vinaya text writes it as 咽, pronounced 烏 + 見 with fanqie, or also pronounced 烟, which is not the sense of choking and gagging).
