Gṛdhrakūṭa Mountain (耆闍崛山: the upper is pronounced qí; the next is shì + zhē [shé]; corrupt and abbreviated Sanskrit. Properly it is Gṛdhrakūṭa (姞粟駄羅矩吒), translated here as Vulture Peak, and also as Vulture Terrace. Because many vultures roost on this mountain's peaks, and it resembles a high terrace, it was named thus. 姞 is pronounced jù + yǐ [jí]).
