Phlegm and fluid retention (痰癊: the upper character has the fanqie *dàn* + *gān* [tán]; the *Kaosheng* says, "A water disease in the diaphragm." The *Shuowen* says it is categorized under "sickness" with *yán* phonetic. The lower character has the fanqie *yì* + *jìn* [yìn]; the *Zilin* writes it as 𤷜, meaning "a disease of phlegmatic fluid in the chest." The *Yunquan* says, "*Yìn* also means phlegm." The two characters gloss each other; it is categorized under "sickness" with *yīn* phonetic. In the sūtra text it is written under "grass" as 蔭, which is incorrect).
