【Weimoluojie】(Vimalakīrti) Kumārajīva said: "In the language of the Qin, it is Jingming (Pure Name)." The Chuiyu ji says: "'Pure' is the true body; 'name' is the response body. The true is the principle realized; the response is the body manifested." Daosheng said: "This means Wugoucheng (Spotless Fame). Concealing his traces among the five desires, soaring above without defilement, his pure fame spread far and wide; hence he received this title." The Da jing says: "Spotless in awe-inspiring virtue, the king of renown upāsaka." The Xiyu ji [says]: "Vimalakīrti, in the language of the Tang is Wugoucheng (Spotless Fame); formerly called Jingming. Now, 'purity' is spotless, and 'name' is fame; though the meaning adopted is the same, the designations differ. The old form Weimojie is an error."
