【三摩耶】《刊正記》云：「名假時，亦名短時長時。論云：除邪見故，說三摩耶，不言迦羅。復次，有人言：『一切天地好醜，皆以時為因。』論中廣約三世無相，是故時法無實。是故說三摩耶，令其不生邪見。三摩耶詭名時，亦是假名時。亦名長時短時者，不同外人定執，蓋是假說長短，而無其實故。若短若長，悉名三摩耶。見陰界入生滅，假名為時。」

【Samaya】The Kanzheng ji states: "This is termed 'nominal time', and is also termed short time or long time. The Treatise states that in order to eliminate wrong views, samaya is used, and kāla is not spoken. Furthermore, some say: 'All goodness and ugliness of heaven and earth take time as their cause.' The Treatise extensively demonstrates that the three times are without characteristics, and therefore the phenomena of time lack real existence. For this reason samaya is spoken, so that they do not give rise to wrong views. Samaya is a figurative name for time, which is also nominal time. It is also called long time and short time because, unlike the fixed attachments of non-Buddhists, it is merely a conventional designation of length or shortness, lacking any reality. Whether short or long, all are named samaya. Observing the arising and ceasing of the aggregates, realms, and sense bases, it is conventionally designated as time."
