【多羅】秦言岸。《大品》咤字門,入諸法驅不可得故。論曰:「若聞多字,即知一切法此彼岸不可得。」《華嚴》唱侘(恥加切)字時,名以無我法開曉眾生。疏云:「即相驅迫性。謂無我曉之,即為驅迫。」

[Tīra]: In the language of Qin, it means "shore." The "ṭa"-syllable door in the Pañcaviṃśati: entering through the fact that in all dharmas, "driving out" is ungraspable. The Śāstra states: "If one hears the 'ta'-syllable, one knows that this shore and that shore are ungraspable for all dharmas." When the Avataṃsaka chants the "ṭha"-syllable (pronounced chi-jia), it is called "enlightening sentient beings with the Dharma of non-self." The commentary says: "That is, the nature of mutually driving and pressing; that is to say, enlightening them with non-self is itself driving and pressing."
