The eight scriptures above, from the Faju [pi jing] downward, were all composed by Xiao Ziliang; therefore, they are appended to the catalogue of spurious texts.
The preceding fifty-three scriptures are all designated as deviating from the genuine. Some begin by plagiarising the golden words [of the Buddha] and end by declaring prognostications and omens; some discuss worldly arts and later cloak them in Dharmic phrasing; some invoke yin and yang, auspiciousness and calamity; or expound on spirits and ghosts, misfortune and fortune. All such works are blatantly spurious. Now they should be kept suppressed and concealed, in order to rescue the world from harm.
