The śramaṇa Zhi Fadu, in the first year of the Yongning era of Emperor Hui of the Jin, which was the xinyou year, translated: the Wenshushili xian baozang jing (Mañjuśrī's Manifestation of the Treasure Treasury Sūtra, two fascicles); the Shishan shi'e jing (Ten Good and Ten Evil Actions Sūtra, one fascicle); the Shi tongzi jing (Vow of the Youth Sūtra, one fascicle); and the Shanshengzi jing (Singālovāda Sūtra, one fascicle); in total, four works comprising five fascicles. The upāsaka Nie Daozhen was the son of Nie Chengyuan. Both father and son were pure and perceptive, making translation work their occupation. From the Taikang era of Emperor Wu of the Jin to the end of the Yongjia era of Emperor Huai, he consulted with Dharmarakṣa and served as his scribe. After Dharmarakṣa passed away, Daozhen translated on his own fifty-four works of sūtra comprising sixty-six fascicles, namely: the Shizhu jing (Daśabhūmika Sūtra, twelve fascicles); the Zhufo yao jing (Essential Sūtra of All Buddhas, two fascicles);
