The śramaṇa Saṅghabhadra (which means “Assembly Manifestation”) was a native of Jibin. Resolute, he possessed profound and noble capacity; he sought out famous teachers everywhere, completely mastered the Tripiṭaka, and read extensively across the scriptures. Memorizing the *Vibhāṣā*, he penetrated its subtle tenets. Wandering with free aspiration, he observed local customs to propagate the teachings. In the seventeenth year of the Jianyuan reign of Fu Qin, the year yiyou, he came to Guanzhong. Together with Shi Dao'an and others, he translated: the *Abhidharmavibhāṣā Śāstra* (fourteen fascicles); the *Śāstra Compiled by the Venerable Vasumitra* (ten fascicles); and the *Sūtra Compiled by Saṅgharakṣa* (three fascicles); altogether three works in twenty-seven fascicles. The work was completed in the twenty-first year of Jianyuan, the year jichou. Fotuluocha transmitted the speech, and the śramaṇa Minzhi and the Gentleman of the Yellow Gate Zhao Wenye served as scribes.
