The General Catalogue is divided into ten fascicles, beginning with the first and ending with the tenth. (This roughly outlines the headings; all specific details are in the tenth fascicle.)
Fascicle 1: Sūtras, śīla, karmans, etc., produced by translators of the clergy and laity under the two dynasties of Han and Wei, together with new and old anonymous translations, with appended biographies of the translators;
Fascicle 2: Sūtras, śīla, etc., produced by translators of the clergy and laity under the two dynasties of Wu and Jin, together with new and old anonymous translations of various sūtras, with appended biographies of the translators as above;
Fascicle 3: Sūtras, vinayas, śāstras, etc., produced by translators of the clergy and laity under the two dynasties of Eastern Jin and Fu Qin, together with new and old anonymous translations and biographies as above;
Fascicle 4: Sūtras, vinayas, and śāstras produced by translators of the clergy and laity under the four dynasties of Yao Qin, Western Qin, Former Liang, and Northern Liang, together with newly and previously compiled anonymous sūtras, etc.;
Fascicle 5: Sūtras, vinayas, and śāstras, etc., produced by translators of the clergy and laity under the single dynasty of Song, together with newly compiled anonymous sūtras, etc.;
Fascicle 6: Sūtras, vinayas, and śāstras, etc., produced by translators of the clergy and laity under the four dynasties of Qi, Liang, Northern Wei, and Northern Qi, together with newly compiled anonymous sūtras, vinayas, compilations, etc.;
Fascicle 7: Sūtras, vinayas, and śāstras, as well as accounts and catalogues, etc., produced by translators of the clergy and laity under the three dynasties of Zhou, Chen, and Sui;
