稽首善逝牟尼尊　無上丈夫調御士
亦禮三乘淨妙法　并及八輩應真僧
我撰經錄護法城　三寶垂慈幸冥祐
惟願法燈長夜照　迷徒因此得慧明
正法遐久住世間　依學速登無上地

I bow my head to the Sugata, the Muni, the Honoured One,
The Unexcelled Hero, the Tamer and Guide of Men.
I also pay homage to the pure and wondrous Dharma of the three vehicles,
And to the saṅgha of Arhats of the eight ranks.
I compile this catalogue of sūtras to protect the city of the Dharma;
May the Three Jewels bestow their compassion and grant hidden aid!
I only pray that the lamp of the Dharma will illuminate the long night,
So that deluded followers may thereby obtain the light of wisdom,
And the true Dharma may abide long in the world,
So that by studying and practicing it, they may swiftly ascend to the unexcelled stage.
