稽首善逝牟尼尊　無上丈夫調御士
亦禮三乘淨妙法　五部祕密總持門
并及八輩應真僧　普賢妙德諸菩薩
五眼三身咸照世　至誠歸命願加威
我撰經錄護法城　三寶垂慈幸冥祐
唯願法燈長夜照　迷徒因此得慧明
正法遐久住世間　依學速登無上地

I bow my head to the Sugata, the Muni, the Honoured One,
The Unexcelled Hero, the Charioteer of Men;
I also pay homage to the pure and wondrous Dharma of the three vehicles,
And the five divisions of the secret dhāraṇī-gates,
As well as the saṅgha of worthy arhats of the eight ranks,
And all the bodhisattvas such as Samantabhadra and Mañjuśrī.
May their five eyes and three bodies illuminate the world;
With utmost sincerity I take refuge and pray for their protective power.
I compile this sūtra catalogue to protect the city of the Dharma;
May the Three Jewels extend their mercy and grant hidden assistance.
I pray only that the lamp of the Dharma will illumine the long night,
So that lost wanderers may thereby gain the clarity of wisdom,
And the True Dharma will abide in the world for a long time,
So that those who practice according to it may swiftly ascend to the unexcelled stage.
