Mahādīpadhāraṇī-sūtra, 20 fascicles (two cases).
Translated by the Tianzhu tripiṭaka master Jñānagupta and others under the Sui.
Mahātejasdhāraṇī-sūtra, 20 fascicles (two cases).
Translated by the Tianzhu tripiṭaka master Jñānagupta and others under the Sui.
Buddhadevanāma-sūtra, 12 fascicles (or 13 fascicles).
Translated by the Tianzhu tripiṭaka master Bodhiruci under the Northern Wei.
Sūtra on the Names of the Three Thousand Buddhas of the Three Kalpas, 3 fascicles (Past Kalpa of Splendour Thousand Buddhas' Names Sūtra, fascicle 1; Present Bhadrakalpa Thousand Buddhas' Names Sūtra, fascicle 2; Future Nakṣatrakalpa Thousand Buddhas' Names Sūtra, fascicle 3; anonymous translation, collected from omissions and entered; now appended to the Liang catalogue).
The above two works in 15 fascicles, two cases. (The names of the Buddhas of the three kalpas appeared in Changfang's catalogue of canonical texts, now combined into a single work. Among them, the names of the Buddhas of the Bhadrakalpa were extracted from the Bhadrakalpika-sūtra and thus counted as a duplicate translation; now, because the names of the Buddhas of the preceding and subsequent [kalpas] are sole translations, they are grouped together by category and compiled here).
Sūtra on the Names of the Five Thousand Five Hundred Buddhas, 8 fascicles.
Translated by the Tianzhu tripiṭaka master Jñānagupta and others under the Sui.
Sūtra on the Inconceivable Merits Guarded and Minded by the Buddhas, 2 fascicles (said to be drawn from various sūtras; or 4 fascicles).
Translated during the Cao Wei era, the tripiṭaka master's name lost (collected from omissions and entered).
The above two works in 10 fascicles, the same case. (As for the Sūtra on the Inconceivable Merits, the Great Zhou Catalogue states that it is the same text as the Sūtra of the Questions of the Bodhisattva Acintyaprabha, which is mistaken).
Kuśalamūlasaṃgraha-sūtra, 13 fascicles (also named Sūtra on Gathering All Good Roots; or 10, or 11, or 12; one case).
Translated by the tripiṭaka master Kumārajīva under the Yao Qin.
Mahāvaipulyadhāraṇī-sūtra, 4 fascicles (also named Vaipulyadhāranī-dhāraṇī-sūtra).
Translated by the śramaṇa Fazhong in Gaocang commandery under the Northern Liang (recorded in Baochang's catalogue).
Saṃghāṭa-sūtra, 4 fascicles.
Translated by Upasenaka, prince of the realm of Ujjayinī, under the Northern Wei.
Balavyūhasamādhi-sūtra, 3 fascicles.
Translated by the Tianzhu tripiṭaka master Narendrayaśas under the Sui.
Mahāvaipulyapūrṇabuddhasūtrārthanirdeśa-sūtra, 1 fascicle.
Translated by the Kaśmīra śramaṇa Buddhatrāta under the Great Tang (collected from omissions and entered).
The above four works in 12 fascicles, the same case.
Sūtra on the Ocean-Samādhi of Visualizing the Buddha, 10 fascicles (or 8 fascicles; one case; or without the character 'Ocean').
Translated by the Tianzhu tripiṭaka master Buddhabhadra under the Eastern Jin.
(Regarding this Sūtra on Visualizing the Buddha Samādhi, the Great Zhou Catalogue states that it was translated by Guṇabhadra in the Yongchu era of the Song dynasty, citing the Neidian lu. Having carefully examined the Neidian lu, it states that it was translated by Juexian [Buddhabhadra] of the Eastern Jin, not Gongdexian [Guṇabhadra] of the Song era; the Zhou Catalogue is mistaken. It also states that it is the same text as the single-fascicle Sūtra on Visualizing the Buddha Samādhi translated by Kumārajīva under the Later Qin and lists it as a duplicate translation. Now, since Kumārajīva's translation has long been lost and its number of fascicles is completely different, they cannot be arbitrarily matched; it is now placed among the sole translations according to various old catalogues).
Mahākāruṇika-buddhaprābhṛta-sūtra, 10 fascicles.
Anonymous translation, recorded in the Later Han catalogue.
Bodhisattvacaryā-sūtra, 3 fascicles.
Anonymous translation (now appended to the Eastern Jin catalogue; collected from omissions and entered).
The above two works in 10 fascicles, the same case. (According to the Great Zhou Catalogue, the seven-fascicle Sūtra on Repaying Kindness is said to be the same text as the single-fascicle Great Expedient Sūtra on Repaying Kindness translated by Lokakṣema in the Han dynasty, and the three-fascicle Bodhisattvacaryā-sūtra is said to be the same text as the single-fascicle Bodhisattvacaryā-sūtra translated by Nie Daozhen in the Western Jin dynasty. Now, because both the single-fascicle Repaying Kindness and Caryā sūtras were previously lost texts, and their numbers of fascicles are completely different, they cannot be arbitrarily matched; they are ordered into the sole translations according to various old catalogues).
Dharmasaṃgīti-sūtra, 6 fascicles (or 7 fascicles, or 8 fascicles).
Translated by the Tianzhu tripiṭaka master Bodhiruci under the Northern Wei.
Sarvadharmapravṛttinirdeśa-sūtra, 4 fascicles.
Translated by the Tianzhu tripiṭaka master Jñānagupta and others under the Sui.
The above two works in 10 fascicles, the same case.
Bodhisattva-garbhastha-sūtra, 5 fascicles (also simply called Garbha-sūtra; or 8 fascicles).
Translated by the Liangzhou śramaṇa Zhu Fonian under the Yao Qin.
Hongdao guangxian sanmei jing, 4 fascicles (or without the characters 'samādhi'; also named Anavataptānāgarāja-sūtra; also named Ru jingang wen dingyi jing; in 12 chapters in total).
Translated by the tripiṭaka master Dharmarakṣa under the Western Jin.
(Regarding this one sūtra, the Renshou and Great Zhou catalogues both say it is a different translation of the same text as the Anavataptānāgarāja-sūtra. Both sūtras are said to have been produced by Dharmarakṣa, and are classed as duplicate translations. According to Sengyou's catalogue, Dharmarakṣa produced only a two-fascicle Anavatapta-sūtra, with a note below stating: 'also named Hongdao guangxian sanmei jing.' In Changfang's catalogue, Dharmarakṣa's translation has the Hongdao guangxian sanmei jing in two fascicles, with a note below stating: 'also named Anavatapta's Invitation to the Buddha Sūtra.' The Tang Neidian lu records both sūtras under Dharmarakṣa's translations. Furthermore, both Changfang and the Neidian lu catalogues list an anonymous translation under the Western Jin of the Anavataptānāgarāja-sūtra in two fascicles. Now, collating the two sūtras, their texts do not differ at all. It is merely because of the multiple designations that the various catalogues differed, some recording both sūtras, and some alternating their titles. At the time, no one realized this, and the confusion deepened day by day. Now, abolishing one and keeping the other, errors can hopefully be avoided. Only one text is retained and entered among the sole translations).
Pradīpadānīya-sūtra, 1 fascicle (also named Sūtra on Lighting Lamps).
Translated by the Tianzhu tripiṭaka master Narendrayaśas under the Northern Qi.
The above three works in 10 fascicles, the same case.
Aṅgulimālīya-sūtra, 4 fascicles.
Translated by the Tianzhu tripiṭaka master Guṇabhadra under the Song.
(Regarding this Aṅgulimālīya-sūtra, the Great Zhou Catalogue says it is a different translation of the same text as the seven sūtras such as Dharmarakṣa's Finger Garland Sūtra, which is mistaken. One cannot rashly match them as duplicate translations merely because their titles seem similar. Upon careful examination of the Sui catalogue, the Finger Garland Sūtra comes from the Ekottarika-āgama, and the six sūtras such as Aṅguli's Repentance were extracted from earlier great sūtras; since they are not different translations of the same text, it is classified among the sole translations as before).
Akiñcanabodhisattva-sūtra, 4 fascicles.
Translated by the Tianzhu tripiṭaka master Jñānagupta and others under the Sui (recorded in the Neidian lu).
Mingdu wushi jiaoji jing, 2 fascicles (or without the characters 'mingdu'; or without the characters 'wushi').
Translated by the Parthian tripiṭaka master An Shigao under the Later Han.
The above three works in 10 fascicles, the same case.
Antarābhava-sūtra, 2 fascicles.
Translated by the Liangzhou śramaṇa Zhu Fonian under the Yao Qin.
Mahābherīhāraka-parivarta-sūtra, 2 fascicles.
Translated by the Tianzhu tripiṭaka master Guṇabhadra under the Song.
Mañjuśrīparipṛcchā-sūtra, 2 fascicles (also simply called Mañjuśrī's Questions Sūtra).
Translated by the Funan tripiṭaka master Saṅghabhara under the Liang.
Candrottarādārikāvyākaraṇa-sūtra, 2 fascicles.
Translated by the Tianzhu tripiṭaka master Jñānagupta and others under the Sui.
Mahāvaipulyatathāgataguhyakośa-sūtra, 2 fascicles (anonymous translation, now appended to the Qin catalogue).
The above five works in 10 fascicles, the same case. (As for the Mahāvaipulyatathāgataguhyakośa-sūtra, the Great Zhou Catalogue states that it is a different translation of the same text as the Mahāvaipulyatathāgatagarbha-sūtra; now, examining their textual sense and underlying doctrines, they are completely different, hence it is treated as a sole translation).
Mahāyānaghanavyūha-sūtra, 3 fascicles.
Translated by the Central Tianzhu tripiṭaka master Divākara under the Great Tang (recorded in the Great Zhou Catalogue).
Sūtra on the Divination of the Retribution of Good and Evil Karma, 2 fascicles (also named Mahāyānatattvārtha-sūtra; said to be drawn from the Sūtra on the Aggregate of Six Faculties).
