namely the Sūtra on the Appearance of Four Persons, the Sūtra on the Brāhmaṇa Evading Death, and the Sūtra on the Four Narakas,

As for the two sūtras, the Ekottarika-āgama [Sūtra] and the Cultivating the Sevenfold Practice and Receiving Manifest Retribution, formerly they were said to come from the Ekottarika-āgama, yet having been called variant translations, they were compiled into the catalogue of extant works. Now having examined them, they are offshoot extracts and not variant translations. The Sūtra on the Twelve Links of Dependent Origination, the Sūtra on Maitreya's Descent to Earth, and the Sūtra on the Six Declining Matters also come from the Ekottarika-āgama, and are therefore appended to this catalogue.

Upon examining the texts of these five sūtras, they are actually alternate translations and not separate extractions. Furthermore, there are the Sūtra on Counting, the Sūtra on Mindful Recollection of the Tathāgata with Eleven Marks, and the Sūtra on Contemplating the Body. Among them, the Sūtra on Counting is derived from the Madhyamāgama.

[they] are different translations. The Shiyi xiang jing (Sūtra on the Eleven Perceptions), drawn from the Ekottarika-āgama, is also a different translation.
The three sūtras beginning with the Shenguan xiangying fa jing were catalogued under single translations in the Great Zhou Catalogue. Now upon examination, they all come from the Saṃyuktāgama. The five sūtras beginning with the Nianshao poluomen jing were catalogued among missing texts in the Zhou Catalogue. Now, having obtained their texts, upon collation they are identical with the Saṃyuktāgama. Among them, the Dufu zhangzhe jing (Sūtra on the Sole Wealthy Elder) and the Ban amoleguo jing (Sūtra on the Half Āmalaka Fruit) were already recorded among the separately circulating extracts in the Sui Zhongjing lu. They are now all grouped together and catalogued here.

Fufu jing (Sūtra on Husband and Wife), in one fascicle (extracted from fascicle 5)
Sahedawang jing (Sūtra on King Sarvadatta), in one fascicle (extracted from fascicle 5)
Shouda jing (Sūtra on Sudatta), in one fascicle (also called Weixian shouda jing; extracted from fascicle 5) — Newly entered above.
The 54 works in 54 fascicles beginning with the Nālai jing all come from the Jātaka-sūtra (Sheng jing).
This Jātaka-sūtra has altogether 55 sūtras in its upper and lower parts. Its fiftieth, the Piyu jing (Parable Sūtra), is separated out into two sūtras including the Saheda [wang jing], making 56 in total. Among these 56, excluding the Zongchi jing and the Gudu jing, there are 54 sūtras besides these two.
Recorded in the catalogue of separately circulating texts.
Furthermore, in the separately circulating extracts of the Sui Zhongjing lu, there are four more sūtras, namely: Mingguo shen jing, Xiangwang jing, Jigou jing, and Bayang shenzhou jing, all stated to come from the Sheng jing. Now upon examination, none of these sūtras are found within the Sheng jing. Since they are absent upon inspecting the text, they are excluded and not entered. Among these 54 sūtras, there are Hu zhu biqiu zhou jing, Wuju jing, Bie yu jing, Pusa ceng wei bie wang jing, Huizi jing, Ma yu jing, and Saheda jing. The above eight sūtras are newly entered into this catalogue. Among them, the five sūtras Wuju, Bie yu, Huizi, Ma yu, and Shouda are stated by the Zhongjing lu to come from the Za piyu [jing]. For the two sūtras Hu zhu biqiu zhou and Saheda, the Zhongjing lu states they are extracts of the Mahāyāna and Hīnayāna, with their origin unknown. Now, because they are all identical with the titles in the Sheng jing, they are catalogued here. As for the Pusa ceng wei bie wang jing, You's statement that the translator is lost was mistaken. Since it is identical with this one, it is entered in this catalogue.
Fanzhi guan wuchang de jietuo jing (Sūtra on the Brahman Contemplating Impermanence and Attaining Liberation), in one fascicle (the same sūtra as the Jietanwang jing, divided into two according to circumstances; extracted from the first fascicle)

The 14 works in 14 fascicles beginning with the Jietanwang jing all come from the Yizu jing (Arthapada-sūtra).
As for the Mojie fanzhi jing, Sengyou's catalogue says it comes from the Yizu jing. As for the four sūtras Xutuoli jing, Laoshao jusi jing, [Mei]le nan jing, and Lianhuase biqiuni jing, You says their translators are lost. As for the Yinren yizhongxing jing, Fang says its translator is lost. Now upon collation, they are all identical with this, hence they are catalogued here.
Examining the Yizu [jing], it has 16 sūtras in total across its upper and lower fascicles. Now excluding the Youtianwang jing, Yixue jiaofei jing, Zifu gonghui jing, and Weiloule zhu shizhong jing—excluding these four—the remaining two sūtras are divided into 14, and therefore recorded in this catalogue.
Shanshi ewang jing (Sūtra on the Auspicious Goose King), in one fascicle (extracted from the Saddharmasmṛtyupasthāna-sūtra)
Muqiang cijiao yinyuan jing (Sūtra on the Nidāna of the Wooden Stake Piercing the Foot), in one fascicle (extracted from the Xingqixing jing)

Sandu jing (Sūtra on the Three Poisons), in one fascicle (You's catalogue says it is an extract) — Newly entered above.
Sishi jing (Sūtra on the Four Nutriments), in one fascicle (You's catalogue says it is an extract) — Newly entered above.
Tiaoda yu jing (Sūtra on the Parable of Devadatta), in one fascicle (You's catalogue says it is an extract) — Newly entered above.
Ershiba tian jing (Sūtra on the Twenty-Eight Deva Realms), in one fascicle (recorded among the lost translations in You's catalogue; eight and a half sheets) — Newly entered above.
Shouzhi wenfo shisi shi [jing] (Sūtra on Śuciloma Asking the Buddha Fourteen Matters), in one fascicle (also called Shisi yi; also called Shisi zhang; two and a half sheets) — Newly entered above.
Shuxi shi (Matters on Counting the Breath), in one fascicle (You says Shuo shuxi shi; two sheets) — Newly entered above.
Regarding the nine sūtras beginning with the Asheshiwang [jing], You's catalogue states they are extracts but does not point out what they are drawn from. Regarding the three sūtras beginning with the Ershiba tian [jing], upon examining their texts, they are all extracts, yet it is not precisely known from which sūtra or vinaya they come. Furthermore, in the Renshou Zhongjing lu of the Sui, there are altogether 213 works in 227 fascicles of Hīnayāna separately circulating extracts, which also do not indicate their sources. Now upon examining the catalogues of various dynasties, most have already recorded them. For that catalogue to treat the Shou shishan jie jing, Jiading biqiu jing, and others as separately circulating extracts is unreasonable. Since there is no precise evidence, it is difficult to rely upon them. They are briefly recounted as above; the rest are deleted.
