2.45

經。我於往昔至應生嗔恨　贊曰。此釋也。嗔由我生。若有我見應生嗔恨。恨依嗔立。懷惡不捨結怨為性。嗔恨既無明無我相故。行忍時無我等相。

Sūtra: "In the past, when I" up to "should have given rise to anger and resentment." Commentary: This is the explanation. Anger arises from the self; if there had been a view of self, he would have given rise to anger and resentment. Resentment is established based on anger; harboring malice without letting go, forming hostility is its nature. Since anger and resentment were absent, it is clear that there was no mark of self; therefore, when practicing forbearance, he was without marks of self and so forth.
