Sūtra: “One should produce a mind that does not abide anywhere.” Commentary: Next, within the additional confirmation, the text is further divided into two: first, affirming in a direct manner, and second, negating in a reverse manner. This is the first. Since abiding in forms and the rest to produce one’s mind increases the suffering of saṃsāra and prevents one from arousing the [bodhi-]mind, if one wishes to arouse the mind and transcend birth-and-death, one should therefore produce a mind that does not abide anywhere.
