1.60

經。若取法相即著我人眾生壽者　後別釋也。於中有二。一明離我相。二明離法相。此文初也。若取法相者。謂妄執諸法實有體故。即為著我人等者。法執為因我執還生也。

[Sūtra:] "If they grasp at the notion of dharmas, they cling to a self, a person, a sentient being, and a soul." The subsequent text explains specifically. Within this there are two parts: 1. explaining freedom from the notion of a self; 2. explaining freedom from the notion of dharmas. This passage is the first. "If they grasp at the notion of dharmas" refers to falsely clinging to all dharmas as having real substance. "They cling to a self, a person, etc.": with clinging to dharmas as the cause, clinging to self arises again.
