Sūtra: "Wherever... cause all to be fulfilled."
Two: propagating protection. An "araṇya place" (araṇya-āyatana) is also called araṇya (elanruo or alianruo); they are all the same. Fascicle twenty-five of the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra says: "What is meant by dwelling in an araṇya? It means dwelling in empty, quiet mountain forests and wildernesses, making use of bedding and seats at the periphery, keeping far away from all villages, towns, and settlements. This is called dwelling in an araṇya." Question: "How far is considered one araṇya?" Fascicle twelve of the Abhidharmakośa-bhāṣya says: "Twelve finger-breadths make one span; twenty-four finger-breadths make one cubit; four cubits make one bow; five hundred bows make one araṇya." It means that wherever this sūtra is circulated, and where people uphold the Tathāgata's name, draw near, and make offerings, we spiritual generals together with our retinues, for the sake of the true Dharma, will constantly protect these people, so that they will all be liberated from all suffering and difficulties, and all their wishes will be fulfilled.
