佛之威神令諸寶蓋合成一蓋。遍覆三千大千世界　此二合蓋文二。初合蓋。表內慈無緣絕於彼我二。外現淨土表應物差別淨穢不同。此初也。彼我未亡寶積等蓋殊而慈局執。亡性一諸佛所以蓋合而慈覆三千。什曰。現此神變其旨有二。一者現神變無量顯智慧必深。二者寶積獻其所珍必獲可珍之果。來世所成必若此之妙明因小而果大。

"By the Buddha's awe-inspiring divine power, he caused all the jeweled parasols to merge into a single parasol, which extended over the entire great trichiliocosm." This second part on merging the parasols has two divisions. First, merging the parasols signifies that internal non-referential compassion abolishes the dichotomy between self and other. Second, externally manifesting the Pure Land signifies that, responding to the distinctions among beings, pure and defiled differ. This is the first division. When self and other have not yet been extinguished, the parasols of Ratnarāśi and the others remain distinct and their compassion is confined by grasping; when nature is unified, all Buddhas merge the parasols and their compassion covers the three thousand realms. Kumārajīva says: "Manifesting this spiritual transformation has two purports: first, manifesting boundless spiritual transformations demonstrates that his wisdom must be profound; second, because Ratnarāśi offered what he treasured, he will inevitably obtain a precious fruit. That which he accomplishes in future lives will surely be wondrous like this, making clear that from a small cause comes a great result."
