時維摩詰來謂我言。唯大目連。為白衣居士說法。不當如仁者所說　此三辨所彈事。文三。初呵偽。次示真。後呵益。此初總呵不當。此順方言。應云仁者所說不當。法唯一實餘二非真故云不當。

"'At that time, Vimalakīrti came and said to me, "Hold, Mahāmaudgalyāyana! When expounding the Dharma for white-robed householders, one should not expound it as the venerable one has."'" This third [part] explains the incident of reprimand. The text has three parts: first reprimanding the false, next showing the true, and later reprimanding the benefit. This is the first, generally reprimanding the impropriety. Following regional speech, it should say: 'What the venerable one has expounded is not appropriate.' The Dharma has only one reality and the other two are not real; hence he says 'not appropriate.'
