默往。阿難勿謗如來。莫使異人聞此麁言　三廣止二謗。先止增謗也。文三。初勸默也。謗佛麁言異人聞之必蔓說。故令默往。生曰。苟云是實為謗佛也。又曰。病為常近麁之極也。不達聞之必謂然矣。

"'Depart in silence, Ānanda! Do not slander the Tathāgata, and do not let outsiders hear these crude words.'" / Third, extensively halting the two slanders. First, halting the slander of exaggeration, in three parts. First, urging silence: Slandering the Buddha with crude words, outsiders hearing them would surely spread them; therefore he tells him to depart in silence. Daosheng says: If one claims it is real, this is slandering the Buddha. He also says: Illness is the most ordinary and crude of things; those who lack comprehension, hearing this, would surely take it to be true.
