維摩詰言。我已捨矣。汝便將去。令一切眾生得法願具足　二還女也。肇曰。因事與願菩薩常法也。以女還魔願具滿故因以生願一切眾生得法願具足。如魔之願滿也。

Vimalakīrti said, "I have already relinquished them; take them away at once, and may all sentient beings attain fulfillment of their dharmic vows!" Second is returning the maidens. Zhao says: "Generating vows on the basis of events is the constant method of bodhisattvas. Because returning the maidens to the māra fulfilled his wish, he thereby gave rise to the vow that all sentient beings may attain fulfillment of their dharmic vows, just as the māra's wish was fulfilled."
