彼諸菩薩聞說是已。皆曰未曾有也。如世尊釋迦牟尼佛。隱其無量自在之力。乃以貪所樂法度脫眾生　此三讚述。文二。此初讚佛也。肇曰。諸佛平等迹有參差。迹有參差由群生下劣。志願狹小故佛隱自在力同其貧陋。順其所樂而以濟之。應感無方。不擇淨穢。此未曾有也。

When those bodhisattvas heard this, they all said: "This is unprecedented! Such as the World-Honoured One, Śākyamuni Buddha, conceals his immeasurable power of sovereign mastery and delivers sentient beings by means of the dharmas they impoverishedly crave." (Third, praise and affirmation, in two parts. This is the first, praising the Buddha. Sengzhao says: "The Buddhas are equal, yet their traces vary. That their traces vary is due to the lowliness and inferiority of living beings, whose aspirations and vows are narrow and petty; therefore, the Buddha conceals his sovereign power, identifies with their poverty and meagerness, and accords with what they delight in to rescue them. Responding to resonance without fixed bounds, he does not discriminate between pure and defiled. This is truly unprecedented.")
