集法藥故不住無為。隨授藥故不盡有為　肇曰。採良藥必在山嶮。非華堂之所出。集法藥必在嶮。有非無為之所出也。若癡捨有為則與群生隔絕。何能隨而授藥。

"Because of gathering dharma medicine, they do not abide in the unconditioned; because of dispensing medicine according to need, they do not exhaust the conditioned." Zhao says: "Gathering good herbs must take place in precipitous mountains; they do not come from ornate halls. Gathering dharma medicine must take place in the precipice of conditioned existence; it does not come from the unconditioned. If one foolishly abandons the conditioned, one is cut off from the multitudes of beings; how could one dispense medicine according to their needs?"
