以己之疾愍於彼疾　此二推己興悲以自喻。生曰。我有智慧由以疾苦。況乃不達者乎。推己愍彼。是嫌濟之壞。豈得自畏死也。

"Through one's own illness, take pity on their illnesses." This is the second, extending oneself to arouse compassion to console oneself. [Dao]sheng says: "I possess wisdom, yet still suffer from illness; how much more so those who have not attained it! Extending oneself to pity others is the vessel of aid and salvation; how could one personally fear death?"
