The Bodhisattva Subāhu said, "The bodhisattva mind and the śrāvaka mind constitute duality. When one contemplates the characteristics of mind as empty, like an illusion or a transformation, there is neither bodhisattva mind nor śrāvaka mind. This is entering the dharma gate of non-duality."
Kumārajīva says, "Because of the retribution of his giving, inexhaustible treasures poured from his hands like five great rivers; hence he is named Subāhu ('Wondrous Arm')." Another explanation says, "Benefiting oneself is the śrāvaka mind; benefiting others is the bodhisattva mind."
