“Having repented, he should speak these words: ‘Homage to Śākyamuni Buddha! Homage to the stūpa of Prabhūtaratna Buddha! Homage to the emanation Buddhas of Śākyamuni Buddha in the ten directions!’ Having spoken these words, he bows everywhere to the Buddhas of the ten directions, to homage to Bhadraśrī Buddha of the eastern direction and the emanation Buddhas. Just as his eyes see, with each and every mind he bows, making offerings of incense and flowers. When the offerings are finished, he kneels with his right knee on the ground, joins his palms, and praises the Buddhas with various verses. Having praised them, he speaks of the ten unwholesome actions and repents all sins. Having repented, he speaks these words: ‘In past lives during immeasurable kalpas, I was greedy for fragrance, taste, and tangibles, creating all manner of evils; due to these causes and conditions, for immeasurable lifetimes I constantly received bodies in hell, hungry ghosts, animals, and in borderlands of wrong views, various unwholesome bodies. Such evil karma I confess today, taking refuge in the King of the True Dharma of the Buddhas, speaking my sins and repenting.’
