"If there is evil in the eye faculty, and karmic obstacles make the eye impure,
One should only recite the Mahāyāna and contemplate the ultimate truth;
This is called repenting the eye, extinguishing all unwholesome karma.
The ear faculty hears disordered sounds, disrupting the sense of harmony,
Giving rise to madness from this, like a foolish monkey;
One should only recite the Mahāyāna and contemplate dharmas as empty and signless,
Eternally exhausting all evils, the divine ear hearing the ten directions.
The nose faculty clings to fragrances, giving rise to touches following defilement;
Such a wild, deluded nose generates sense-objects following defilement.
If one recites the Mahāyāna sūtras and contemplates dharmas as the true reality,
One is eternally freed from all evil karma, never to be born in future lives.
The tongue faculty gives rise to five kinds of unwholesome karma of harsh speech;
If one wishes to tame oneself, one should diligently cultivate a compassionate mind,
Pondering the true tranquil meaning of the Dharma, free of all differentiating marks.
The mind faculty is like a monkey, never pausing even for a moment;
If one wishes to subdue it, one should diligently recite the Mahāyāna,
Mindful of the Buddha's Great Awakening Body, formed of the powers and fearlessnesses.
The body is the master of mechanisms, revolving like dust following the wind;
The six thieves disport within it, untrammeled and unobstructed.
If one wishes to extinguish this evil, to be eternally free from all defilements,
Constantly dwelling in the city of nirvāṇa, with a peaceful and serene mind,
One should recite the Mahāyāna sūtras and be mindful of the Mother of Bodhisattvas.
Immeasurable supreme expedients are obtained from contemplating true reality;
These six dharmas are called the six emotional faculties.
The ocean of all karmic obstacles is born entirely from false thoughts;
If one wishes to repent, sit upright and contemplate true reality.
The multitude of sins is like frost and dew: the sun of wisdom is able to disperse them;
Therefore, with the utmost mind, one should repent the six emotional faculties."
