Having spoken this verse, the Buddha said to Ānanda: "You must now uphold this 'Method of Repenting the Six Faculties and Contemplating Samantabhadra Bodhisattva', and explain it extensively for all the devas and people of the world throughout the ten directions. After the Buddha's parinirvāṇa, if any disciples of the Buddha receive, uphold, read, recite, and explain the vaipulya scriptures, they should, in a quiet place—whether in a cemetery, under a tree in a forest, or in an araṇya—chant and recite the vaipulya and contemplate the meaning of the Mahāyāna. Through the strength of their mindfulness, they will be able to see my body and the stūpa of Prabhūtaratna Buddha, the immeasurable emanation Buddhas of the ten directions, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, Mañjuśrī Bodhisattva, Bhaiṣajyarāja Bodhisattva, and Bhaiṣajyasamudgata Bodhisattva. Out of reverence for the Dharma, holding wonderful flowers, they stand in the sky, praising and venerating the one who practices and upholds the Dharma. Merely because they chant the Mahāyāna vaipulya sūtras, the Buddhas and bodhisattvas make offerings day and night to this upholder of the Dharma."
