Third, explaining the meaning of 'bhūmi' is divided into three: 1. General statement; 2. Particular explanation, divided into five, all having doctrines and similes, as should be known from the treatise: i. Based on the domain; ii. Based on the support; iii. Based on the range of activity; iv. Based on what is subsumed; v. Based on the seventeen bhūmis; 3. Concluding summary.
