第二明七作意受何喜樂等相分三　一依遠離攝樂二作意明受喜樂相分二。一立因。二顯果　二依加行究竟明受喜樂相分二。一立因。二顯果　三依加行究竟果明受喜樂相分三。一立因。二顯果分三如論。三結釋名　第三明七種作意業用分七如論。

The second, clarifying what joy, bliss, and so forth the seven mental applications experience, has three parts: 1. clarifying the experience of joy and bliss based on the two mental applications of detachment and gathering joy, which has two parts: (1) setting forth the cause; (2) revealing the fruit; 2. clarifying the experience of joy and bliss based on the culmination of preliminary practice, which has two parts: (1) setting forth the cause; (2) revealing the fruit; 3. clarifying the experience of joy and bliss based on the fruit of the culmination of preliminary practice, which has three parts: (1) setting forth the cause; (2) revealing the fruit, which has three parts as in the treatise; (3) conclusion explaining the name. The third, clarifying the functions of the seven kinds of mental application, has seven parts as in the treatise.
