The fourth, clarifying the characteristics of dividing the six mental applications into four, has two parts: 1. clarifying the principal meaning, which has four parts: (1) clarifying the characteristics subsumed by comprehending characteristics and resolute intention, which has two parts: [1] presentation; [2] explanation (the subsequent three follow this); (2) clarifying the characteristics subsumed by detachment and the culmination of preliminary practice; (3) clarifying the characteristics subsumed by gathering joy; (4) clarifying the characteristics subsumed by examination; 2. general conclusion, which has two parts: (1) presentation; (2) explanation.
